We continue serialization of the 2015 one-shot Empowered: Pew Pew Pew!, written and drawn by yours truly.

Ehh, my eyeballed "font size" on this issue's hand lettering might be excessively large (as I've discussed previously), but at least the tails (or "arrows") on my word balloons are nice and short, as they should be. Of the many, many garbage-tier aspects of modern-day comics lettering that bug me to no end, contemporary letterers' use and abuse of insanely long balloon tails probably bugs me the most. (Well, that and the fact that said letterers are obsessed with shoving those overlong balloon tails right into the mouths of the characters speaking that dialogue; otherwise, how would you know who's talking, right?)

Today’s Patreon update: Originally done as a means of scratching out more worktime to complete the long-gestating Empowered vol. 12, I've switched over to a Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday Patreon posting schedule that won't feature the fixed content format I previously used. However, my vast archive of years of Patreon posts—extensive Empowered previews, work-in-progress updates on developmental projects such as fantasy comics The Chaste and the Chained and The Last Party, vintage con sketches, work stages on covers, "damsel in distress" commissions, life drawings & much, much more—remains available for Patrons' perusal.
